To the website of Frensham and Dockenfield Horticultural Society.
We are a small gardening club whose members simply share an enthusiasm for all things that we can grow in our gardens and allotments.
Although it is called Frensham and Dockenfield where you live is no restriction to becoming a member. Indeed our members also live in Tilford, Churt, Grayshott, Farnham and Hindhead.
You do not need to have any particular gardening skill nor do you need to own a garden! It does, however, probably help to have some interest in growing some sort of plant!
For your membership fee you will receive a regular newsletter – at least six a year, filled with gardening tips, recipes, articles of interest and details of the regular speaker meetings – at least five a year.
You will also be able to obtain discounts at a number of local suppliers – these can offset the cost of membership very quickly.
Frensham and Dockenfield Horticultural Society organise trips to local gardens and nurseries.
We run two plant sales each year – one at the Frensham Fayre in June and the second outside the Frensham Village Shop, in October.
Frensham and Dockenfield Horticultural Society also run a ‘social evening’ once a year where members share their own knowledge or experience of all things horticultural. This year the evening focused on members’ favourite garden visits.
Finally once a year, in November, we put on the ‘President’s Supper’ a gathering for all members which includes a two course meal including wine. Held in the Marindin Hall this is a popular event that takes people out of their homes on a dark winter’s night and gives them good food and excellent company. An event not to be missed
