The Society holds a Spring and Autumn show each year.
Each show has five sections, which are:
Members can enter all classes, and to encourage as many people as possible to enter the show, we also hold a number of ‘Open Classes’. These classes, allow non-members to enter and also include open classes for juniors. This therefore allows both novice and experienced gardeners, the opportunity of showing off their horticultural skills.
The shows are held in the Marindin Hall, Frensham. After judging, the doors open to the public from 2.30pm, to view the entries and enjoy a wide selection of homemade cakes, tea, coffee and cold drinks. Prizes are awarded, later in the day.
BANKSIAN MEDAL AND ANNIVERSARY CUP
The Banksian Medal is awarded to the person with the highest number of points attained across the whole of the horticultural classes, only, in both the Spring and Autumn Shows. Any competitor who has won the Banksian Medal in the last two years is not eligible to win this medal. The Banksian Medal and the Anniversary Cup will be awarded at the President’s Supper.
